DESCRIPTION:UNIgreen’s JRC1 – Biochemistry & Biotechnology – Scientific Mission \n\n\n\nWho?\n\n\n\nResearchers and PhD students of UNIgreen Alliance universities with experience and/or knowledge on environmental microbiology\, nutrition\, plant physiology\, metagenomics\, big data analysis\, or One Health.   \n\n\n\nObjectives \n\n\n\n\nIntensification of academic exchange by enhancing access to advanced research resources\n\n\n\nFacilitation of mobility for academics and doctoral students \n\n\n\nEstablishing international scientific networks among participants \n\n\n\nImproving research quality through knowledge exchange \n\n\n\nAdvancing UNIgreen towards becoming a collaborative community focused on innovation and sustainability \n\n\n\n\nProgramme\n\n\n\n\nDay 1: Arrival of participants\, registration\, icebreaker  \n\n\n\nDay 2: Lecture/workshop: Ecosystemic services delivered by microbiomes. How do microbiomes contribute to human and environmental health?  \n\n\n\nDay 3: Lecture/Workshop 1: Overview and critical analysis of methodological approaches\, insights into high throughput sequencing\, bioinformatics and AI\, and multimodal data analysis. What are the best practices\, the limits and the gaps?  \n\n\n\nDay 4: Workshop 2: Project brainstorming “Impacts of farming practices on ecosystem services delivered by soil microbiota”. How to derive reliable bioindicators of soil health from metagenomics\, can we develop tools for data-driven decision-making? Critical review of the literature\, study design  \n\n\n\nDay 5: Verification of competences\, group photo\, certificates\, departure of participant \n\n\n\n\nTopics of Training\n\n\n\n\nRecognition and value of services delivered by environmental microbiomes\n\n\n\nImpact of human activities on ecosystem services\n\n\n\nImportance of good practices and of study design for metagenomic investigations\n\n\n\nBridges between human and environmental health \n\n\n\n\nWho can apply?\n\n\n\nScientists employed by the UNIgreen Alliance Universities or persons completing their doctoral studies at the UNIgreen Alliance Universities\, with \n\n\n\n\nAt least CEFR B2 English language proficiency\n\n\n\n\n\nAt least EQF level 7 of education in the subject area: Health or Agronomy\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION\n\n\n\n\nApplication deadline: 20 February 2026

DESCRIPTION:UNIgreen’s JRC7 – Plant Breeding – Scientific Mission \n\n\n\nWho?\n\n\n\nResearchers and PhD students of UNIgreen Alliance universities with Health or agronomy education equivalent to EQF level 7. \n\n\n\nObjectives \n\n\n\n\nIntensification of academic exchange by enhancing access to advanced research resources\n\n\n\nFacilitation of mobility for academics and doctoral students \n\n\n\nEstablishing international scientific networks among participants \n\n\n\nImproving research quality through knowledge exchange\n\n\n\nAdvancing UNIgreen towards becoming a collaborative community focused on innovation and sustainability\n\n\n\n\nProgramme\n\n\n\n\nDay 1: Arrival of participants\, registration\, icebreaker. \n\n\n\nDay 2: Discovering the HEPL ecosystem through visits to a local educational farm\, an industrial partner involved in student training\, and a regional dairy producer collaborating on sustainable food projects.  \n\n\n\nDay 3: This course explores the One Health approach\, which recognizes the close interconnection between human\, animal\, and environmental health. At the center of this relationship lies food\, a key factor influencing human well-being\, animal welfare\, and ecosystem sustainability. \n\n\n\nDay 4: Project brainstorming\, verification of competences.  \n\n\n\nDay 5: Group photo\, certificates\, departure of participants. \n\n\n\n\nTopics of Training\n\n\n\n\nNutrition and Health\n\n\n\nFood\, microbiota and immunity\n\n\n\nFood and cancer\n\n\n\nAnimal health and human health: an inseparable link\n\n\n\n\nWho can apply?\n\n\n\nScientists employed by the UNIgreen Alliance Universities or persons completing their doctoral studies at the UNIgreen Alliance Universities\, with \n\n\n\n\nAt least CEFR B2 English language proficiency\n\n\n\n\n\nAt least EQF level 7 of education in the subject area: Health or Agronomy\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION\n\n\n\n\nApplication deadline: 20 February 2026
