One Health: A transdisciplinary vision of health

The BIP One Health is an international and interdisciplinary programme within the UNIgreen Alliance. Through collaborative learning and academic exchange, the programme promotes a holistic One Health approach in an international context.

Who?

It is designed for health students from the second year onwards and focuses on the interconnected challenges of human, animal, and environmental health. They must communicate fluently in English, although no formal certification is required.

Programme

  • Presentations by recognized experts in One Health, public health, sustainability and biomedical sciences
  • Hands-on workshops focused on health, nutrition, well-being and collective intelligence
  • Real-world field experiences, including a visit to a pedagogical farm and outdoor activities
  • Interdisciplinary and international teamwork with students from different backgrounds
  • Strong focus on sustainability and healthy lifestyles

Through expert lectures, hands-on workshops and field activities, students gain practical insights into today’s key health and sustainability challenges.

  • A concrete and interdisciplinary One Health approach
    Students are introduced to the One Health concept by experts ( Sciensano, ULiège, UGent…) and explore tapies such as zoonoses, microbiomes, and environmental health.
  • Topics directly connected to healthcare practice
    The BIP addresses highly relevant themes for future health professionals, including: sustainable development in hospitals, the impact of physical activity on health, well-being, health literacy…
  • An active learning experience
    Beyond lectures, the programme emphasizes experlential learning through cooking workshops, collective intelligence sessions, orienteering activities, or a visit to a pedagogical farm.
  • A strong human and international experience
    The BIP encourages collaboration between students, informal exchanges, and shared moments.
