Our webinar is part of the UNIgreen Science Week 2025.
Thematic
Beyond the bench: a world of career opportunities outside the lab, from science communication to policy, consulting, and beyond.
When?
On Thursday, 25 September, 2025, join us for an online event, from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST with expert speakers and engaging discussions.
Moderator

Ana Sofia Fajardo
Assistant Researcher at i2A at Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra
She is holding a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Coimbra and a European Ph.D. in Advanced Oxidation Processes. She has built an international and multidisciplinary track record, having worked with research groups in Portugal, Brazil, United States and France. Her current projects focus on developing electrochemically driven processes to address environmental challenges, contributing to sustainable solutions within the water-food-energy nexus.
Speakers

Mattia Colalongo
R&D Scientist at Novac at UNIMORE
He majored in Physical Chemistry at the University of Milan (La Statale). Following his master’s thesis on computational studies of perovskite materials disorder, he pursued a PhD on lithium-ion batteries. His doctoral research, defended in March 2025, focused on understanding failure mechanisms in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EV’s) applications and was carried out through a joint project between the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, Aalto University, and Umicore Battery Materials. He is currently an R&D Scientist at Novac, where he works on the development of new materials to improve supercapacitors’ performances for automotive and aerospace applications.

Weronika Jabłońska
Intern at the Partnership Research Laboratory in Agroecology (SupBiotech)
She is a graduate of Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), where she completed her Master’s degree in Biotechnology in Animal Production and Protection. Currently, she is continuing her academic journey by pursuing a Master’s in Management at WSB Merito, aiming to combine scientific innovation with strategic thinking.
Her academic background lies at the intersection of microbiology, animal genetics, and biotechnological applications, with interest in how these fields can be translated into real-world solutions and sustainable business models. She involved in two scientific associations at SGGW and conduct cancer cell research at the Medical University of Warsaw.
Starting soon her new adventure with toxicology, biochemistry and environment protection.
