The position of Assistant Professor in Restoration Ecology at the Agricultural University of Iceland is now open for applications.
The faculty’s mission is to build a bridge between nature and society through research, teaching, training, and consulting in the fields of sustainable land use and ecosystem restoration.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Building internationally recognized research in the field of restoration ecology and related disciplines within the environmental sciences
- Publishing peer-reviewed scientific articles, securing research grants, and active participation in both international and domestic collaborations
- Participation in teaching and curriculum development at the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme and academic programs at the university
- Supervision of students at GRÓ LRT and other academic programs at the university
- Active participation in professional development and institutional growth within the university
Qualifications:
- PhD in Restoration Ecology or related environmental science disciplines
- Experience in research and work related to restoration ecology and sustainable land use
- Publications in recognized international academic forums
- Strong collaboration skills and communication abilities
- Proficiency in Icelandic and English, both spoken and written
