UNIgreen: Meeting in Poland on Ecosystem Services

In September 2025, the Joint Research Center 4 “Biodiversity, Forestry, and Agroecology” of the UNIgreen Alliance held a five-day scientific mission hosted by the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the Rogów Forest Experimental Station.

Researchers and academic staff from Portugal, Spain, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, and Iceland took part in a short course on ecosystem services in functional connectivity, combining lectures, field-based case studies, and a collaborative proposal-writing workshop.

During the mission, participants discussed practical approaches to assessing and balancing ecosystem services in managed landscapes, examined trade-offs observed in the field, and defined next steps for joint research projects.

The event not only strengthened cooperation among UNIgreen partners, but also laid the groundwork for a shared research proposal and future scientific collaborations.

Funding: The mission was supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the project BPI/WUE/2024/1/00014/U/00001.
